PRIVACY NOTICE


Knowsley Youth Mutual Limited (KYM) is a Community Benefit Society Limited by Guarantee and is governed by a Board of Directors.  This privacy notice explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you complete this registration form or contact us.

KYM needs to collect and use certain types of information about the individuals who come into contact with us in order to carry out our work.  This personal information must be collected and dealt with appropriately and there are processes to ensure this under the General Data Protection Regulation May 2018.

What information do we collect from you?

We collect information from you in the following ways:

  • From consent forms

  • From evaluation processes

  • From equality & diversity monitoring processes

  • From video, audio and photographs

  • When you contact us via our website or social media

How will we use the information we collect from you?

KYM’s main work area is working with young people - running activities, meetings and events for young people.  

We are legally obliged to obtain consent for each young person who takes part, particularly if under 18.  

For safeguarding purposes and to be able to contact your parent/guardian/carer/significant adult in the event of an emergency, medical or otherwise.

To provide welcoming, safe spaces for activities and to provide a positive learning experience.

Access to your information and correction:

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date.  You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

This may result in you/ your child being unable to continue with a project if consent is a legal requirement.

How long will we keep your information?

Consent is valid for 12 months from the date the form is signed.   Following this date we will store the data securely electronically for a maximum of 3 years, unless we are required by law to keep it any longer.

Will we share your information with anyone?

We will only share your information with third parties if funding contracts require it.  In these instances we will ensure that your information is not shared further by implementing agreements with those third parties.  Third parties we are likely to share your information with:

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) – KMBC funds KYM to run a range of programmes, projects and activities.  KMBC requires KYM to share your data with them so they are able to monitor what is being delivered.

NHS England – NHS England processes data that enables KYM to deliver health related activities that they are funded to deliver through KMBC

Big Lottery – Big Lottery funds KYM to run positive activities for young people, and as part of that funding KYM is required to share data with them to evidence impact of the activities being provided.
